What is Anyclip?

Anyclip is a web service that allows you to find, view and share clips from films.

Is this legal?

Yes. We have contracts with the studios providing us with the rights for the clips we show on the site.

Can I use your clips on my website?

Yes. You can put any clip from our site on your website or blog. Every clip has its own embed code. Please see the How To section for more details. In addition, our API allows you to incorporate more advanced features (see our section for developers.)

Does it cost anything?

No. The use of our service is completely free. See the Terms of Service for more information.

Are you child-safe?

No nudity is displayed in our clips. For language and violence concerns, please check the MPAA rating of the film.

How often are movies added?

We are constantly expanding our database. If you sign up to our newsletter, we will let you know of new movies coming up.

Are the clips only from famous or well known scenes?

Clips are available from every section of the film.

Using anyclip.com:

How do I search for a scene?

You can search for a scene using dialogue, actor or director names, movie title or a combination of the above. You can use the search box on the homepage to search the entire database, or go to the specific movie/actor/director page and search for scenes within that movie or by that actor/director.

How do I search for a movie/actor/director?

You can use the search box on the homepage to search the entire database. The search results are displayed by category – movies, actors and directors.

What other ways are there to explore a movie?

On the movie page, you can watch the recommended Top Clips from the movie. In addition, you can search within the movie for specific actors, quotes, actions or items.

I’m not looking for something specific. How can I just browse the site?

You can browse the Most Popular Clips on the homepage, explore our Recently Added movies, watch our Playlists, or check out the related movies featured on a movie page.

I was unable to find the scene I was looking for.

You should search for the scene directly from the movie page to guarantee the best search results. If you still can’t find the scene, we may not have the rights for the movie. We can only post clips from movies to which we have rights, and we're constantly working with studios to add more movies to our database.

I was unable to find the movie/actor/director I was looking for.

We try to provide as wide a variety of content as possible and we are constantly working on expanding our database. Please send us your request through the Contact Us form and we’ll do our best to add it.

Why do some clips appear with the title “Unnamed Clip”?

AnyClip allows you to search for any moment or any clip in the system. An unnamed clip means that the search result is not a pre-edited clip, but rather tailored specifically to fit your search query.

Can I use search operators (such as *, “, + etc) to refine my search?

Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available, but it will be added in the future.

How can I share a clip?

You can share clips via Facebook, twitter, email, or by using the embed code in your blog or website. To share a clip, click the Share button below the video player on the clip page and choose one of the sharing options listed there.

What are playlists?

A playlist is a pre-selected collection of clips from different movies that share a common theme. The clips automatically play one after the other, and you can skip ahead or go back to any clip on the playlist.

Why do some clips stop in the middle of the scene?

Our agreement with the studios allows us to show clips of up to two minutes at a time. We try to create clips that can be viewed independently whenever possible.

Can I incorporate your clips and movie data into an application I’m building?

Yes! AnyClip has a robust API for developers that allows you to use our data in a variety of ways.

See the API documentation for further information.
